Classes

As you join me in class, we will explore how your practice aligns with your unique stage of life. Whether you're a beginner, a mother, experiencing postpartum, bringing a new life into this world, or want to feel empowered in your practice, and within your body, I'm here to support and guide you.

Practice Approach

As a Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Teacher and follower of Viniyoga approach to yoga, I believe the practice should be adapted to the individual and not the other way around. We should not feel like we need to follow the teacher’s guidance at all costs - moving through pain, pushing ourselves way beyond our window of tolerance, feeling like we are in competition with each other, or like we don’t have a choice. I aim to invite you to explore and experience your breath, your body, and the present moment, at your own pace.

I see Yoga as a pathway to encounter choices, possibilities, and within those, practice choosing and acting on the ones that feel most beneficial to each of us. I see Yoga as an opportunity to reconnect to the body as a safe place to be, cultivating a kind inner presence that is available within us.

Hatha Yoga

Throughout the class you will experience opportunities to connect your body and breath in a gentle yet powerful way. I offer several modifications, variations - choices - for you to move the way it feels good in your body. I’ll invite you to move through a mix of dynamic and static shapes, pranayama (breath work), meditation, and relaxation practices to give you a more profound sense of connection.

This practice is beneficial for improving your emotional health, expanding your range of movement, injury support, alignment, flexibility and strength.

  • All levels are welcome to join! Throughout the class, several offerings around variations and modifications for poses will be available. In addition, I will teach you how to tune into your body and flow in the best way for you.

Classes are available face-to-face to online. You will be welcomed into a safe, supportive, inclusive community for our in-class sessions. Check out the timetable to see what is coming up. I hope to see you soon.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative practice supports you and your body in the experience of prolonged rest. This practice is an invitation to explore and experience ease in your body and mind, as it supports every aspect of the body in an attempt to relieve tension.

This is not a dynamic practice in nature. We aim to have between 4-5 yoga shapes and they are held for a longer period of time.

We live in a society that is experiencing collective exhaustion. We are in need to re-learn how to pause. In this practice we aim to cultivate calm, ease, release. We sooth our nervous system and integrate that part in us that is in need to slow down.

This practice is beneficial for melting stress away.

  • This class is for everyone in need to rest. Everyone that feels the need to reconnect with the ability to rest, pause, and ease the body and mind.

If you are experiencing burnout or distress, this class can be very soothing.

Pregnancy Yoga

Becoming a mama has been a profound and magical experience for me. After I fell pregnant with my Kai, I felt called to deepen my knowledge of the pregnancy journey. So I explored the changes in our bodies, hormones, and the beautiful and transformative energy during pregnancy. I honestly fell in love with pregnancy, labour and birth. It is pure magic what mamas can do! From my experience, pregnancy yoga is a beautiful opportunity to take time to reflect while taking in the precious moments of pregnancy. It also begins preparation for labour and birth while keeping your body relieved and your mind clear and at ease.

My purpose is to empower mamas and provide holistic support throughout their pregnancy journey. During these classes, we focus on the connection between you and your baby, different asana (poses and shapes) suitable for pregnancy, and breathing exercises.

  • Avoid or minimise conditions that may cause discomfort, such as pelvic girdle pain, lower back pain, sciatic nerve pain, nausea, and low energy levels.

Effective intervention for pregnant women with diabetes

Feel empowered and trust your body's natural wisdom to grow and birth your baby

Learn tools and techniques to calm and prepare the mind, build endurance, and get comfortable with the uncomfortable.

Pregnancy yoga is a beautiful way to soak up this time for yourself and send all the love and oxygen to your baby.

  • Pregnancy yoga comes down to you and your journey like any other yoga practice. For group classes, if you are already practising yoga, we encourage you to continue practising or return to class whenever you are ready. If you are new to yoga, mamas often commence from the second trimester onwards.

Alternatively, for personalised one-on-one classes, you can start your journey at any stage of pregnancy, as the practice will be tailored entirely to you.

Post-natal Yoga

Kindly note: if you'd like to bring your bub along, see our "Mums and bubs" classes above.

Postnatal yoga focuses on our beautiful mamas and everything they need on their recovery journey. This journey is about healing your sacred body while nurturing and strengthening yourself after birth. These classes are an opportunity to alleviate stress and potential postpartum depression. Feel supported, heard, and have a deep sense of belonging within this beautiful community of mamas; know that you are not alone.

I recognise how hard it can be to make a start or return to yoga with a newborn baby. So I'm here for you, mama.

For personalised one-on-one classes, the lesson will be tailored to you to fully support your recovery. In addition, I offer at-home classes, so you don't have to leave the comfort of your surroundings. Throughout the lesson, I'll be here to help you with your bub (cuddles and snuggles included) while you connect with yourself.

Personalised Yoga Practice

"The uniqueness of Krishnamacharya's teaching is in his insistence on attending to each individual and to his uniqueness. If we respect each person individually, it naturally means that we will start from where each person currently is. So the starting point is always the unique needs of each student. This requires many different approaches; there is not just one approach for everybody." – TKV Desikachar.

Personalised yoga practice is a beautiful way to improve your everyday life while receiving the benefits of a unique practice. It is a process of co-creation in which, together, we set particular intentions and goals to work towards. Personalised yoga is highly beneficial as it holistically combines focus on your mind and body. This is a nourishing and supportive journey tailored to you, and I can always see its incredible impact on people's lives. You'll feel the benefits and start to notice the ripple effect it creates on your everyday life. (See Testimonials). Please explore the structure I will follow when creating a practice for you below.

You are looking for support in your pregnancy, labour and birth preparation.

You'd like support healing your body and navigating postpartum/start of motherhood.

You have an injury and would like support in building an appropriate asana practice.

You suffer from anxiety or depression and want to focus on your mental health.

Private Group or Individual Classes

Gather your tribe and embark on this journey together. We can provide group and individual classes at your desired location. This offering is an excellent option for a mother's group who'd like to have a private yoga class or for those wanting to book a private retreat in a beautiful location.

I can support you if you would like a solo private general class. Choose between a lesson in the comfort of your home, face to face, or online. Please reach out to me, and I'd be happy to chat about the different options and how I can accommodate you best.

Mums and Bubs (coming soon)

Mums and bubs classes bring even more memorable moments into everyday life. When the days start to roll into one, and it feels like the newborn bubble is drifting away, these classes are a lovely way to slow down and be present. So soak in these early, memorable moments between you and your bub, continue bonding and increase the breath-mind-body connection, all while getting a bit of movement in and lots of cuddles!

I offer a choice of one-on-one classes or group classes. The focus is on your journey throughout the fourth trimester and beyond. Together we go with the flow of your baby's present energy and current needs, so if you need to breastfeed or tend to your baby, we work it in with the flow. During the class, we will also work to restore prenatal strength and enhance pelvic floor engagement, breathwork and relaxation. Your bub will also get to do some yoga, play during the class and feel into movements that will benefit them greatly.

  • I encourage you to listen to your body and trust your judgement regarding movement and returning to class. As a guide, though, about six weeks after birth is when you will receive clearance from your healthcare practitioner. Many mums often feel ready to join in and bring their new baby into the studio during this timeframe. But if you need more time than this, please always honour your intuition and personal needs.
